Michelle just said on CNBC that the war in Georgia could be perceived to be containing oil prices which is positive for the economy.
She said that oil traders are pleased as Vladimir Putin is now in control of the oil pipeline, instead of some unknown little dictator of some offshoot company.
Michelle is trying to be controversial, but instead her statement is insensitive and shows that business reporters can be completely unaware of reality.
The reality is that Putin is a thug, Mikheil Saakashvili is a democratically elected leader supported by the US, and lots off people are dying in this war.
I like Michelle and have since the day that I wrote this article. As I noted here, I like her much more than Erin Burnett. But, if she is going continue to say such dumb and insensitive things, CNBC would be well advised to put her back in front of the teleprompter and next to Mark Haines.

Kudlow & company are even worse. CNBC risks becoming irreverent & irrelevant. They have better young talent that is should be given more of a voice.
